RENO, Nev. – Following her performances at the 2017 NCAA Championships, Nevada junior Sharae Zheng has earned two All-America accolades in both of the diving competitions she competed in. She placed sixth in the 1-meter springboard and seventh in the 3-meter springboard diving events.
With her performances, Zheng helped lead the Wolf Pack to a 27th place finishing at the championships, which was the highest finish amongst all other Mountain West schools. In the preliminary rounds of the 1-meter springboard, Zheng came out on top to win the prelims with a score of 316.70. She finished the event in sixth place after scoring 315.00.
The following day, Zheng completed both the preliminary rounds and the A finals with a top eight placing in the 3-meter springboard. She started the day with a 331.05 in the prelims, which was good enough to finish eighth and improved her standing after a 341.75 in the finals to place seventh.
