Nevada In Third Place After Day Two Of WAC Swimming And Diving Championships

San Antonio, Texas - The University of Nevada swimming and diving team sits in third place after day two of the Western Athletic Conference Championships being held at Alamo Aquatic Center on the Palo Alto College campus in San Antonio, Texas. The Wolf Pack have 169 points while SMU leads with 332 points and Hawai`i stands in second with 256 points.

In the 200-yard individual medley three Pack swimmers finished in the top 10 led by senior Alyssa Chin's fourth place time of 2:03.75. Li Bei and Sarabeth Metzger finished fourth and sixth respectively.

A pair of Nevada divers placed in the top eight in the 1 meter event. Devon Owen's score of 257.95 took fourth and Chrissy Lachmann was seventh with a score of 242.10.

The Pack's 200-yard freestyle relay team of Brandy Collins, Larissa Van Der Linde, Charlene Rigdon, and Li Bei swam to a fifth place finish with a time of 1:35.50.

Day three of the meet is scheduled to get underway at 9:00 a.m. Pacific time on Friday.
