RENO, Nev. - On the heels of its annual training trip, held this season in southern California, the University of Nevada swimming and diving team will take on San Jose State at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Lombardi Pool.
As this will be the final regular-season contest for Nevada, the program's nine outgoing seniors will be honored in a ceremony prior to the first race.
The Wolf Pack is 4-2 in dual meets this season under first-year head coach Abby Steketee. Two of Nevada's wins have come against Mountain West foes, with the Pack beating New Mexico and Fresno State in Fall contests.
On October 27, the Pack beat the Bulldogs 154-141. On November 10, the Pack beat the Lobos 160.5-139.5.
Saturday's tilt with the 6-1 Spartans will be Nevada's final tune up before the Mountain West Conference championships, which are held in San Antonio, Texas, from February 20-23.
San Jose State was not ranked in the last CollgeSwimming.com/NCAA Coaches Poll, but has received votes this season. In other rankings, including the Endless Pools Top-25, the Spartans have been ranked as high as 17th.
Senior day game programs will be available at the meet. The will contain a quote from coach Steketee on each senior athlete and her contribution to the Nevada swimming and diving program.
