Nevada Falls To Tech, Will Play Thursday Night

FRESNO, Calif. The Nevada softball team fell 4-0 to Louisiana Tech on Thursday in the second round of the WAC Tournament at Bulldog Diamond.

Nevada, the second seed in the tournament, fell to 36-15 overall and dropped into the losers’ bracket in the tournament. The Wolf Pack will be back in action tonight at 7 p.m. against the winner of New Mexico State and San Jose State.

Louisiana Tech struck for four runs in the third inning on a pair of two-run home runs. Mallary Darby relieved Katie Holverson after that and Darby tossed 3.2 innings of shutout relief to keep the Pack in the game.

But Nevada missed out on a handful of scoring opportunities, including a bases-loaded situation in the fifth inning and fell to the Lady Techsters.

The game tonight will be available via Live Stats at www.nevadawolfpack.com. It will also be carried live on ESPN Radio 630 AM with the pre-game show scheduled for 6:45 p.m.
