Reno, Nev. The University of Nevada softball team will play its first game at its new softball field, the Christina M. Hixson Softball Park, on Thursday.
Nevada will face Sacramento State in a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 29. The cost to attend softball’s home games is $4 for children ages 12 and younger and $4 for seniors ages 65 and older. Adults are $7 and groups of 15 or more are $4 each.
The Christina M. Hixson Softball Park features 168 permanent chair backs behind home plate and there is also standing room and room for lawn chairs. Temporary amenities are in place for the restrooms, concessions and the press box as the site is still under construction.
The field is located on the site of the former Bishop Manogue High School. To access the field, go north on Valley Road and turn left onto Manogue Road. The softball field is at the end of the driveway on the left.
