Nevada Drops Two To Oregon

EUGENE, Ore. - Nevada (10-16, 2-1 WAC) lost two non-conference games to Oregon here Friday afternoon, both by the score of 3-1.
The Pack had as many hits as the Ducks in game one, each team garnering six, but Nevada had two errors. Nevada took the lead with a run in the fourth but allowed two in the bottom half of the inning and then gave up an insurance run in the fifth. Jordan McPherson took the loss in pitching five innings and allowing two runs, only one of them earned. Kari Stockstill was 1-3 with an RBI to lead the Nevada offense.
In the nightcap, Nevada again jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the second. Oregon tied it in the fourth and then scored twice in the sixth to take the second game, 3-1.
Canidce Rainwater took the loss in pitching the distance and allowing three runs, all earned. Nevada managed just four hits and had one error in the nightcap. Lindsey Hall was 1-3 with a solo home run in the second inning.
Nevada plays Portland State and Oregon State in Portland at noon and 4 p.m. Saturday and the same two teams again Monday at 3 and 7 p.m., respectively.
