PHOENIX, Ariz. – Freshman McKenna Isenberg tossed a three-hit shutout and Hannah Harger led the Wolf Pack offensive attacked with three driven in as the Nevada softball team blanked Southern Utah 10-0 in five innings on Sunday.
Completing play in the Grand Canyon Tournament, Nevada snapped a brief three-game skid and improved to 10-5 on the year.
Harger went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs scored from the bottom of the lineup. She had a two-run single to cap a five-run first inning as the Pack opened strong and didn’t let up.
The Wolf Pack scored two in the fourth and three more in the fifth for the offense.
Meanwhile, Isenberg didn’t allow a runner past second base until the fifth inning. She got into a bit of a jam in the second with a leadoff double and then a walk. But Danielle Wiltz made a sliding catch on a line drive and then doubled off the runner on second to ease the threat.
Isenberg struck out two and walked one to improve to 4-1 on the year.
Nevada returns to action on Thursday as it opens play in the Mayfair Tournament, co-hosted by Long Beach State and Cal State Fullerton.
