Nevada 2004: Led the team in hits (69), doubles (18), triples (6), RBI (34), total bases (102) and stolen bases (4). Was WAC leader in triples and doubles and was in the top five in runs, hits, stolen bases, RBI and total bases and was 10th in batting with a .313 mark.

High School: Played four years varsity softball. Named Defensive Player-of-the-Year in 2002. Helped school team win four league championships.

Personal: Born 9-25-85 in Orange, Calif. Parents are John Hartfiel and Joelle Alvord. Undeclared major. Likes to go snowboarding, rock climbing, and hanging out with friends. Chose Nevada over Oregon, Auburn and Michigan. Greatest achievement is winning the CIF Championship.

Gardner says: "She plays third but can also catch and is one of the most competitive kids I've ever coached. She really pushes her teammates to be better. She can hit and needs to have a clean defensive year. She had a great freshman season last year."
