Oct. 13, 2011

RENO, Nev. – The University of Nevada women’s soccer team will stay at home to take on the Utah State Aggies this Sunday at noon.

Nevada is currently 3-12 (1-2 WAC), while Utah State comes into the contest at 10-4-1 (2-1 WAC).

The Wolf Pack is coming off a 1-1 weekend, defeating Louisiana Tech last Friday, 3-2 in thrilling fashion and falling to New Mexico 2-1. Both matches were overtime contests.

Against La Tech, Nevada fell behind 2-0 only to roar back with two second half goals and a game winner in overtime. The game-ending tally came seven minutes into overtime off the head of Chrisalyn Fonte. Her second goal of the year was also her second goal of the match.

On the road in Las Cruces, the Pack fell on an overtime goal that also came in the seventh minute.

Continuing her march to the all-time record for matches started at Nevada, Annabelle Allen will move into a tie with Patrice Goodwin (2005-08) for second by stepping on the field with the first unit Sunday. Doing so will put Allen at 76 matches started, one away from the all-time mark, which is held by Samantha Miller (2005-08) at 77.

Utah State is coming off two WAC victories last weekend, defeating New Mexico State and Louisiana Tech at home in Logan. The only conference loss for the Aggies this year came in its first WAC tilt against Hawai’i.
