RENO, Nev. -
NevadaWolfPack.com recently sat down with Wolf Pack soccer sophomore forward Erin Saxton to ask a series of questions.
Nevada Wolf Pack: Thanks for dropping by to speak with us today Erin. You recently scored your first career goal, which happened to be the deciding score in the 2-1 win over San Jose State this past weekend. Talk a little bit about how you felt after tallying your first goal here with the Wolf Pack.
Erin Saxton: It definitely felt good. I’ve been looking forward to it because it’s my job to help score goals as a forward. I’m just glad I was able to put one away. The fact that it happened to be the game winner made it that much sweeter. I can take credit for the finish, but the rest of it came through by a great build up from the team.
NWP: You come from a pretty active family, with your dad playing football at Portland State, your mother running track at Oregon State, and your sister playing soccer at Boise State. How has your parents experiences as student-athletes rubbed off on you?
ES: The biggest thing is that they understand the mentality of a student-athlete. They are big fans of whatever my sisters and I have done in sports, as we all grew up playing things like soccer, basketball, and track. I think it was their influence that made it more of a goal for my older sister and I to play in college after them. They both enjoyed their student-athlete experiences. They come to as many games as they can and they are a great support system.
NWP: This is second year with the program. What are some of the best things you enjoy about playing soccer at Nevada?
ES: The thing I like most is the team. Everyone on the team is awesome to play with and they all have great personalities. Every girl on the team brings something different to both on and off the field. They are all my best friends, so it’s an easy way to enjoy what I’m doing.
NWP: Five quick questions for you….Favorite Food?

ES: Finding Nemo

ES: How I Met Your Mother
NWP: Song that pumps you up?
ES: “Don’t Drop That”
