RENO, Nev. -
The University of Nevada soccer team (4-6-3,2-2MW) will host Colorado State (1-8-2,0-4 MW) in a “Pack the Mack” match Friday evening at Mackay Stadium. All fans who wear pink will receive free entrance. Kick-off is slated for 7 p.m. The program will look to break the attendance record of 1,052 that was set earlier this season.
“We are excited to be back home and face Colorado State for the first time,” head coach Dr. Melissa Price said. “Our win on Sunday was a total team effort and it took a lot of heart to pull out the 2-1 victory. We have been scoring by committee lately and that is always a nice thing to see out of the team. Overall we have had numerous players contribute to the team’s success both on the attacking side and the defending side of the ball. Our freshmen have really stepped up as well.”
The match marks the first meeting between the two programs, as the Rams added the women’s soccer program in the summer before the start of the 2013 season. Colorado State enters the match with Nevada riding a four-match losing streak. The Rams’ last victory took place on Aug. 23 in a 3-0 win over Lubbock Christian.
