Gonzaga Defeats Nevada
The University of Nevada soccer team fell to the Gonzaga Bulldogs 3-0 Sunday afternoon. With the loss, Nevada drops to (4-7-1, 0-1 MW), while Gonzaga improves to (6-5, 0-0 WCC).

The University of Nevada soccer team (2-3-2,MW) will travel to Missoula, Mont., this weekend to take on Montana Friday afternoon at the South Campus Stadium. Kick-off is 3 p.m.

“As a team we have been making constant improvements on both sides of the ball, but in particular in our ability to score goals,” head coach Dr. Melissa Price said. “A major focus of ours going into the weekend is capitalizing on our numerous shot opportunities. We’ve also been emphasizing our on the field leadership, both in training and in games. We’re going to be looking for our leaders to step up and also for every player to take an opportunity within the game to have a leadership moment and make a difference. Those things are related to mentality, team composure, and keeping us organized and focused during the games.”

Nevada leads the overall series with Montana 1-0. The Wolf Pack defeated the Grizzlies 3-1 during the 2010 season in Reno. Montana is coming off of a two-match road trip, where the team tied Nebraska-Omaha 3-3 and loss to Creighton 2-1 in overtime last weekend.

Following the match at Montana, Nevada will close out the non-conference slate with a contest Sunday afternoon against Gonzaga. Kick-off is 1 p.m. at the Gonzaga Soccer Field.
