RENO, Nev. - The University of Nevada women's soccer team (3-3-1) will host the Wolf Pack Invitational this weekend, with games played Thursday and Saturday, September 16 and 18 at Mackay Stadium.
Nevada will meet the Idaho State Bengals (5-2-1) Thursday at 7 p.m. in the first contest of the weekend for the Pack. Action begins earlier in the day with the San Jose State Spartans (2-5-0) taking on the Eastern Michigan Eagles (3-3-1) at 4:30 p.m.
"These are sure to be two good games against tough opponents, starting with our match Thursday," head coach Dr. Melissa Price said.
For both matches, seating will be available on the east side of the stadium only.
San Jose State will meet Idaho State Saturday at 11:30 a.m. The final match of the weekend, Nevada and Eastern Michigan, will take place at 2 p.m.
"We are excited to play in front of our home crowd this week," Price said.
Saturday afternoon's contest with EMU will be Father-Daughter Night at Mackay Stadium. All girls middle school age and younger will get in free with a paid father/legal guardian.
The Pack is coming off a weekend sweep on the road for the first time since mid-season in 2009, and is looking to improve on its current home record of 1-1-0. Winning a 4-3 result against Sacramento State and another 1-0 nail biter against the University of San Francisco, Nevada comes into their second weekend of home matches confident and prepared.
"We continue to strive toward our goals in practice and competition and this week is one more step in the process," Price said.
