RENO, Nev. -
NevadaWolfPack.com recently sat down with Wolf Pack soccer redshirt freshman goalkeeper Kelsey Quintos to ask a series of questions.
Nevada Wolf Pack: Thanks for stopping by Kelsey. The team recently had two overtime shutout matches this past weekend at the Jackrabbit Invitational, both resulting in a score of 0-0. You had a career high 11 saves in the first match against South Dakota State. What are your thoughts on how things went in the two matches.
Kelsey Quintos: We didn’t really get the results we wanted with the two ties, as we wanted to come out with the win. To go into double overtime twice after travelling a ways and end with a tie is better than going home with two losses. We can build from the experience moving forward.
NWP: The trip to Brookings, S.D. has been the furthest road trip for the team so far this season. Do you have any fun stories to tell us about your time on the road with the team during the trip?
KQ: Our bus was pretty fancy and we had a great time with the microphone on board that we found. Daisha Jones-Oglesby really put on a show for us.
NWP: Last year you sat out due to a redshirt season. You’ve started all five matches this season. Talk about the extended playing time after sitting out.
KQ: It has been really exciting. After sitting back last year I had a lot of motivation to prepare and work hard during the offseason.
NWP: Five quick questions for you….Favorite Food?
NWP: Favorite Movie?
NWP: Favorite TV show?
KQ: Teen Wolf or anything on ESPN
NWP: Song that pumps you up before a match?
KQ: “My Moment” by DJ Drama
NWP: Favorite soccer player?
KQ: Hope Solo
NWP: Do you tweet?
KQ: Yep, kelseyfq
Quintos and the Wolf Pack will face No. 17 Portland Friday night on the road, before returning to Reno to host Sacramento State Sunday afternoon at the Moana Sports Complex. Kick-off is 4 p.m.
