Women's Golf 10th at Heather Farr/CU Memorial
ERIE, Colo. - The University of Nevada's women's golf team is in 10th at the 2009 Heather Farr/CU Memorial Invitational Monday Oct. 5. The University of Colorado is hosting to the 20-team tournament at the par 72, 6,350-yard Colorado National Golf Club in Erie, Colo.
Four teams completed both rounds on Monday and the rest of the field has one to two holes to finish on Tuesday morning. Third-round play will begin immediately after the conclusion of the second round on Tuesday.
Nevada carded a 19-over 307 in the first round and was at 21 over through 16 holes of the second round and is 10th overall. Texas Tech leads the tournament after the first day, finishing at 10-over 586 (290-296). The Red Raiders are 13 strokes ahead of San Diego State, which is at 23 over with scores recorded through 11 holes. Colorado State is third at 25 over followed by Colorado and SMU at 27 over with holes to finish.
Sophomore Jamie Yam leads the Wolf Pack and is tied for 17th. She carded a four-over 76 in the first round and was at three-over par through 17 holes of the second round. Junior Ana Patricia de la Maza is in a tie for 26th after shooting a two-over 74 in the first round and ending the second round at six over through 16 holes. Freshman Louise Yi stands in a tie for 50th with an 80 in the first round and was four over through 16 holes. Junior Lauren Hernandez is tied for 70th with a five-over 77 in the first round and stands 10 over through 16 holes, while sophomore Eugenia Guerra is tied for 76th after shooting an 81 in the first round and ending at eight over through hole 16.
Texas Tech's Alex Gibson (70-71) leads the tournament at three-under 141 and holds a three-stroke lead over Colorado State's Kasey Claussen.
