RENO, Nev. – The Nevada women’s golf team, under the direction of first-year head coach Kathleen Takaishi will compete beginning Monday at the Ptarmigan Ram Classic hosted by Colorado State.

Takaishi will take a team consisting of senior Joyce Chong, juniors Nikki Prichard and Bethany Wurster and sophomores Caryn Khoo and Carly Simpson to the 17-team tournament.

“The team looks good,” Takaishi said. “The qualifier was very close, it came down to the last day. They have been playing a lot of golf this summer and are ready to compete. There are a few ranked teams in the tournament, so it will be good to see where we finish in the field.”

The 54-hole event will be played at Ptarmigan Country Club in Fort Collins. The teams will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday and live scoring is available at GolfStat.com.

Including the host Rams, there are seven Mountain West schools competing in the event.
