AUBURN, Calif. – Senior Kevin Lucas led four Nevada players in the top 16 at the Winchester Classic on Sunday at Wincester Golf Course.

Lucas entered the final round with a one-shot lead but fell off the pace with a 78 on Sunday as he finished tied for fifth. Freshman Zak Griffiths was a shot back, tied for eighth while Gustavo Chuang (T13) and Brian Knoll (T16) each had strong finishes for Nevada. The Wolf Pack finished in fifth place overall in the team’s final tune-up before the Western Athletic Conference Championships April 30-May 2.

The Nevada women’s team will begin play in the WAC Championships on Monday in Arizona. Second-year coach Chad Spencer and his young team will compete against the rest of the WAC at Longbow Golf Club in Mesa. Nevada is taking senior Alex Borcherts, junior Louise Yi, sophomore Joyce Chong and freshmen Nikki Prichard and Taylor Bickell to the event.
