Nevada to Compete in Fresno Lexus Classic

FRESNO, Calif. – The Nevada women’s golf team is in Fresno, Calif. to play in the Fresno Lexus Classic, hosted by Fresno State.

Nevada will be one of 15 teams to play in the 54-hole tournament at the 6,212 yard, par 72 Copper River Country Club. Nevada will play two 18-hole rounds starting on Monday.

Senior Louise Yi will be the only upperclassman on the young team. Sophomores Nikki Prichard and Bethany Wurster, and freshmen Caryn Khoo and Carly Simpson will make up the rest of the team.

Sophomore Tess Jones will also be competing individually and her score will not affect the team score. This is Jones’ first tournament of the year.

The field of teams include Cal Poly, Cal State Fullerton, Idaho, Long Beach State, Oregon State, Sacramento State, San Jose State, Tulsa, UC Irvine, UC Riverside, and fellow Mountain West members Colorado State, Fresno State, New Mexico and Wyoming.

The first 18-hole round will start on Monday
