Pack women's golf travels to Fresno

Nevada will take on three Mountain West teams

RENO, Nev. – The Nevada women’s golf team is heading to Fresno, Calif. to play in the Fresno State Classic.

The 54-hole tournament will begin on Monday at the 6,212 yard, par-72 Copper River Country Club. The teams will play 36 holes on Monday, and the final 18-hole round will be played on Tuesday.

Nevada will send senior Joyce Chong, juniors Nikki Prichard and Bethany Wurster, and sophomores Caryn Khoo and Carly Simpson.

Junior Tess Jones, sophomore Brittany Whatley, and freshman Jordan Keyser will travel with the team and compete individually.

“We have had a solid week and a half of practice,” said head coach Kathleen Takaishi. “Our focus has been on course management and putting, and we are striking the ball better. The team is excited to head to Fresno, where they have had previous success.”

The field of teams include Boise State, CSU-Northridge, Fresno State, Sac State, San Francisco, and San Jose State.
