SANTA ANA, Calif. – The Nevada women’s golf team kicks off the spring portion of its schedule on Monday as it opens play in the UC Irvine Invitational

The 54-hole tournament begins Monday at the Santa Ana Country Club. Teams will play 36 holes on Monday and a final 18-hole round on Tuesday.

Nevada will send juniors Nikki Prichard and Bethany Wurster, sophomores Caryn Khoo and Carly Simpson and freshman Jordan Keyser.

“The team has spent a great deal of time this winter focusing on mental training,” said head coach Kathleen Takaishi. “Our main priority over the past month has been focusing on the process and what we can control. We were able to get four and a half rounds of qualifying in. The team looks good and is ready to compete.

The field of 13 teams include host UC Irvine, Stanford, Pepperdine, Texas A&M, UC Davis, UC Riverside, Hawai`i, Portland State, San Francisco, Long Beach State, Gonzaga, and Idaho.
