Yam Ties For Sixth, Leads Pack To Fourth-Place Finish





SAN JOSE, Calif. – The Nevada women’s golf team took fifth place in the Colby Invitational on Tuesday, fueled by a sixth-place finish from Jamie Yam.

The Wolf Pack improved its team score by three strokes on Tuesday, shooting at 22-over 310 in the final round after a 313 on Monday. The Wolf Pack finished fourth, just strokes behind WAC rival Fresno State and four strokes behind the host school, Santa Clara. Boston College won the event by nine strikes, 13 shots ahead of Nevada.

Yam fired a two-over 74 on Tuesday at the par-72 Silver Creek Valley Country Club and moved into a tie for sixth place to lead Nevada. She finished with a 156 in the two-round tournament.

Teammate Joyce Chong was three shots and tied for 10th. Louise Yi was next for the Pack, tied for 17th.

The tournament was the final event of the fall schedule for the Wolf Pack. Nevada will return to action next semester at the Fresno Lexus Classic in March.
