PULLMAN, Wash. - Nevada senior Jamie Yam continued her strong start to the 2011-12 season on Tuesday when she carded a 75 and tied for eighth place at the WSU Cougar Cup hosted by Washington State.

Yam shot 78 in windy conditions in round one and then came back with a 73 and 75 to record the top-10 finish, her first since the Anteater Invitational last spring. Yam has led the Wolf Pack in each of its first two tournaments this season.

As a team, Nevada tied for seventh place along with Sacramento State. The Pack struggled on Tuesday with Yam's round the only score in the 70s for the team. Washington won the team race by 12 strokes.

Freshman Taylor Bickell tied for 41st in her second collegiate tournament and Louise Yi was third for the Pack, finishing 49th at the tournament, which was played at Palouse Ridge Golf Course.  Freshman Nikki Prichard was a shot back of Yi and sophomore Joyce Chong tied for 77th.
