CORVALLIS, Ore. – Senior Louise Yi and sophomore Nikki Prichard both recorded top-20 finishes as the Nevada women’s golf team took seventh at the Oregon State Invitational on Tuesday.
Nevada, which was 10th after the first round and ninth after the second round, closed with a 300 on Tuesday to move up two spots to seventh. Yi shot 73 on Tuesday to finish at 5 over 221 and in a tie for 13th place. Prichard, who opened with a 77, came back with a 74 in round two and a 72 on Tuesday to move up to a tie for 17th.
Freshman Caryn Khoo tied for 36th after a 76 on Tuesday at Trysting Tree Golf Course. Freshman Carly Simpson tied for 53rd and Bethany Wurster came in tied for 74th.
“I am really pleased with Louise and the way she finished today,” head coach Chad Spencer said. “With such a young team, we’re going to have our ups and downs so we need our senior to be steady during those times.”
Washington ran away with the team title by 25 strokes. Washington State was second, followed by Gonzaga, Oregon State, USF, Idaho and then Nevada.
The Wolf Pack’s fall schedule resumes next week at the Washington State Cougar Cup in Pullman.
