Prichard Tied for 6th After the First Round of the Mountain West Championship

RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. – Sophomore Nikki Prichard is tied for sixth place after the first round of the Mountain West Championship.

Prichard got off to a hot start on Thursday shooting a four-over 76 in the first round and sits three shots out of first place.

Two other Nevada golfers also broke the Top-20. Freshman Carly Simpson finished tied for 13th with a six-over 78 and senior Louise Yi finished tied for 17th with a seven-over 79.

Freshman Caryn Khoo finished the first round tied for 27th and sophomore Bethany Wurster finished tied for 33rd.

As a team Nevada is tied for fifth place with Colorado State after shooting a 28-over 316. Nevada is just 10 shots out of first place in its first Mountain West Championship.

Fresno State is leading the tournament after shooting an 18-over 306 in the first round. Colorado State’s Emily Roering is leading the individual tournament after shooting a one-over 73.

The 18-hole second round will begin on Friday.
