KAPALUA, Hawaii - Senior Louise Yi fired an even-par 72 and the Nevada women's golf team improved by six strokes in round two of the Anuenue Spring Break Classic on Tuesday at the Bay Course.
Heading into Wednesday's final round, Nevada is in 15th place but just 10 strokes out of a top 10 finish in the tournament, which is hosted by the University of Hawai`i. Washington has the team lead at 573 through two rounds and the Huskies are followed by UCLA (578), Pepperdine (581) and Arizona State (582). The Wolf Pack is at 609 for the tournament as just 17 strokes separate the fifth- and 15th-place teams.
Yi moved into a tie for 36th overall with her round of 72. Freshman Caryn Khoo (T-46th) and sophomore Nikki Prichard (T-62nd) each shot 77 on Tuesday. Carly Simpson shot 81 and is also tied for 62nd while Bethany Wurster is tied for 72nd after a 75 on Tuesday.
Denver's Tonje Daffinrud shot a 65 to take the individual lead at 7-under 137.
The final round will be played Wednesday.
