Albright Adds Heather Cusick as Director of Basketball Operations
RENO, Nev. – Second-year head coach Jane Albright announced the addition of Heather Cusick to her staff as the director of basketball operations.
Cusick comes to Nevada after working as the operations manager for the Southern Ohio PGA of America, a position she began in January of 2008. Her duties included creating and distributing weekly press releases and national articles, updating the content of the website, providing on-site media assistance for photo shoots and tournaments and organizing special events coordination for the Southern Ohio Section.
“I am elated to add Heather to our staff as our director of basketball operations,” Albright said. “She was a very talented player and has great experiences in administrative jobs. She had exceptional references and is a person of great character. Heather will make an immediate impact in our program in many ways and I look forward to her involvement in our community.”
Cuisck served as the director of basketball operations with the Ball State University women’s basketball team from 2004-05. While working at Ball State, Cusick was responsible for creating an alumni and coaches bi-monthly newsletter, mailing weekly recruiting material to high school athletes, digitizing game film and assisting with film exchanges and charting and analyzing offensive efficiency statistics.

Cusick played basketball at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio from 1999-03. She was the first player in MAC women’s basketball history to reach 1,700 points, 500 assists, 400 rebounds, 300 steals and 200 three-point field goals. She served as a three-time team captain and is one of only two women to have their number retired.
In addition, Cusick was a Kodak All-American honorable mention selection in 2003, the Mid-American Conference Player of the Year in 2002 and Miami University’s Female Athlete of the Year in 2002.
Cusick played for the BC Shooters professional basketball team in the Netherlands during the 2003-04 season and served as a volunteer coach for the BC Shooters in 2004. She was also a part of Athletes in Action, a fall college tour in Barcelona, Spain, in 2005.
She received her bachelor’s degree in health and sports studies with a minor in coaching from Miami University in 2003.
