RENO, Nev. -

Director of  women's basketball operations Jacie Hoyt has been promoted to assistant coach, head coach Jane Albright announced Monday.

Hoyt completed her first year with the Nevada women's basketball team as the director of women's basketball operations last season. Hoyt earned her bachelor's degree from Wichita State as a former player for Albright and a master's degree from Fort Hays State.

"Jacie comes from a family where education and coaching is everything," Albright said.  "Her passion for sports and young people is evident in everything she has done. I am elated to have her join our staff as a coach. Her knowledge of the game, enthusiasm, character, experiences, and communication skills make her a great fit to add to my already wonderful staff. Our players , fans, and community will be blessed by her presence on and off the court!"

Hoyt will join Albright's coaching staff that had a vacant spot with the departure of associate head coach Ron Stewart, who joined Fresno State's women's basketball staff following Nevada's 2011-12 season. Camille Williams and Kami Malnaa have also been promoted within Albright's staff and will take on additional responsibilities within the program. Albright has one final graduate assistant position on her staff that she will fill soon.
