RENO, Nev. - With 18 contests slated on its conference schedule, the Mountain West announced Nevada women's basketball's league games on Tuesday. The Wolf Pack and first-year head coach Amanda Levens will play eight home-and-home series, as well as two one-time matchups.
"The conference schedule will be a great challenge for our team," Levens said. "Every night will be a fight and we know we need to be prepared to play our best basketball when we step on the floor against every opponent in the Mountain West."
With the non-conference slate still being put together, the Pack's full schedule will be revealed shortly. In March, Nevada announced it will play host to Connecticut, one of the most storied programs in the history of collegiate women's basketball. The matchup between the Pack and the Huskies is scheduled for Nov. 28.
Nevada will open conference play at home on Dec. 28 vs. Fresno State inside Lawlor Events Center, then take a trip down to Albuquerque, N.M. for its lone contest of the year against New Mexico on Dec. 30. After the Pack plays an away game against Wyoming on Jan. 3, Nevada will return home for a matchup vs. Air Force on Jan. 6.
The Pack will then hit the road for two of its next three contests, beginning with a trip to Logan, Utah to play Utah State on Jan. 13. Following a home matchup with San Jose State on Jan. 17, Nevada will travel to Boise, Idaho and square up against Boise State on Jan. 20.
Nevada will finish the month of January with Wyoming coming to Reno on Jan. 24 and the Pack playing Fresno State on Jan. 31 on the road. February opens up with Colorado State coming to Lawlor Events Center on the third, before Nevada heads down to Las Vegas on Feb. 7 for the first of two Governor's Series games against UNLV.
After the Pack travels to San Diego for the opening contest of the two-game series against the Aztecs on Feb. 10, Nevada will come back to Reno for a brief, two-game home stand, beginning with Boise State on Feb. 14. The final game of that home stand will be against Utah State on Feb. 17.
The Pack will take its final trip of the 2017-18 conference schedule with a pair of games on the road, which begins on Feb. 21 against San Jose State and concludes on Feb. 24 at Colorado State. Nevada closes out its regular season with two home matchups, the first being the last showdown against UNLV on Feb. 27 and the final game of the conference schedule on March 2 against SDSU.
The MW Championship is scheduled for March 5-9 in Las Vegas at the Thomas & Mack Center, where all 11 MW schools will compete in the tournament.
