Women's Basketball Kicks Off Saturday Doubleheader Against Louisiana Tech

RENO, Nev. -

The University of Nevada women’s basketball team (6-22, 2-11 WAC) will close out the 2011-2012 regular season at home, kicking off a Nevada basketball doubleheader Saturday afternoon against Louisiana Tech (15-13, 8-5 WAC) at 4:05 p.m. The men’s team will face the Bulldogs at 7:05 p.m.

The Lady Techsters lead the overall series 21-6, defeating the Wolf Pack earlier this season 77-63 in Ruston. Chanelle Brennan led all scorers in the game with 17 points. Louisiana Tech is currently on a two-game road trip and are coming off a 65-62 loss to Fresno State Thursday evening. Louisiana Tech is led by senior Shantale Bramble-Donaldson who is averaging 11.2 ppg and 7.9 rpg.

“Doubleheader Saturday”- Fans who attend the women’s game at 4:05 p.m. will be given a ticket up through halftime to watch the men’s team take on Louisiana Tech at 7:05 p.m.

Free Pizza- If the women's team beats Louisiana Tech, fans who attend the game will be given a ticket for a free large pizza from Domino's. The the team loses, fans will be given a ticket for a free medium pizza.

“We Back Pat Night”- Special purple “We Back Pat T-Shirts” will be sold to fans for $10 with proceeds going to fight Alzheimer’s disease, a condition Tennessee women’s basketball coach Pat Summit is fighting.

Senior Day- Seniors Kayla Williams, Kate Kevorken, Amanda Johnson, and Christina Gough will be honored during a pre-game ceremony.
