RENO, Nev. - University of Nevada women's basketball senior Tahnee Robinson has been named the Verizon Wireless Western Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 14-20. This is the third WAC Player of the Week honor of the season and of her career for Robinson.
A Ft. Washakie, Wyo. native, Robinson averaged 27 points on 51 percent shooting and seven rebounds in a pair of road wins last week. In a 69-63 win at Idaho, Robinson led all scorers with 27 points on 9-of-16 (.563) shooting. She also finished with six rebounds, two assists and one block. In a 74-57 win at Boise State, she tallied 27 points and eight rebounds. It was the 18th and 19th times this season that Robinson led all scorers and the sixth and seventh straight games in which she has scored 20 or more points. Nevada now has 19 wins for only the third time in school history and the first time since 1998.
Robinson will lead the Wolf Pack in the last home games of the season this weekend when the Pack hosts New Mexico State on Saturday at 2 p.m. and Louisiana Tech on Monday at 8 p.m. on ESPNU.
