The Gators built up a 12 point lead midway through the first half on the strong play of Lauren Varney and Michaela Booker. San Francisco State picked it up offensively to push its lead back to 12 at the break, leading Nevada 43-31at halftime. Sophomores Aja Johnson and Emily Burns led the Wolf Pack in the opening half with six points apiece.

A San Francisco State layup and free throw gave the Gators its largest lead of 15 to begin the half.  Nevada turned on the defensive pressure and had timely contributions from juniors Arielle Wideman and Danika Sharp to cut the deficit down to five with 5:47 on the clock. Consecutive jump shots by Amber Smith and Nyasha LeSure brought the Pack within one point at 61-60. Gators senior guard Nicole Hicks caught fire late, hitting jumpers on three consecutive possessions to push the score to 67-60.
