Janet Butler is currently in her second season with the Nevada women's basketball team and first as the director of basketball operations. Butler served as the team's graduate assistant during the 2012-13 season.

"I am thrilled to be working with such an outstanding staff here at Nevada," Butler said. "I am very thankful to Jane Albright for giving me this amazing opportunity to learn from the best."

Butler helped lead Louisiana College to a 25-4 record as a senior captain in 2010-11, ultimately reaching the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament. She averaged 6.7 points per game for the Lady Cats, and led the American Southwest Conference with 54 3-pointers. She was also a three-time All-American Southwest Conference honorable mention selection during her career.

Louisiana College was nationally ranked twice, won two conference championships and made two national tournament appearances during Butler's career. She was also an American Southwest Conference distinguished scholar athlete in 2010-11.

Butler is the daughter of Larrie and Margaret Butler, and has two younger sisters, Kristi and Molly.

A native of Eros, La., Butler graduated with a bachelor's degree in health and physical education from Louisiana College in 2011 and is currently working on a master's degree in educational leadership at the University of Nevada.
