Nevada tabbed No. 4 seed for Mountain West Championship

Nevada Men's Tennis singles line up for its match vs. No. 5 Fresno State.

RENO, Nev. --  The University of Nevada men's tennis team will be the No. 4 seed in the Mountain West Championships, and will battle with No. 5 Fresno State on Thursday.

The Wolf Pack concluded the season with an 18-4 record, while notching a 4-2 Mountain West record to earn the No. 4 seed. The Pack will face the No. 5 Bulldogs on Thursday, starting at 10 am. 

It was an unbeaten spring for Nevada on its home courts of Caughlin Athletic Club, with a 10-0 record. The Pack closed the season with three straight victories and wins in seven of its last eight matches, including back-to-back wins over Fresno State and UNLV. 

Co-captain Victor Ouvrard comes into the tournament with a 18-1 dual action record, including going undefeated in conference singles play (6-0). Senior and other co-captain Quetin Mege was 14-7 in the spring, and posted a career high in wins this season (24). Moez Chargui notched a 14-5 mark, while Ryan Andrada was 12-4.

The No. 52 Ouvrard and Robert Allan finished the season at 20-4 with a 15-3 record in dual action. The pair was 10-3 from court one. Chargui and Mege posted a 11-6 mark, with all 11 wins from court two.

Fresno State was 13-9 this season, with a 3-4 conference record. The only loss for the Bulldogs in its last seven matches was a 5-2 decision to Nevada on April 18. Sai Kartik comes in at 12-7 while Eric Komati is 11-7. 

The match with Fresno State will begin at 10 am on Thursday, April 24. The winner will face the victor of the match between No. 1 Boise State and No. 8 Utah State. The link to the bracket can be found on at:!/news-detail/mw-mtenchampbracketrelease_04-21-14_a3neuo.
