RENO, Nev. – The University of Nevada men’s tennis team (8-11, 3-3 MW) will battle Fresno State (15-12, 6-2 MW) on Saturday at 10 a.m. to conclude its regular season before heading to the Mountain West Tournament in Boise. Nevada looks to bounce back after a tough loss to UC Davis on Wednesday.
The Wolf Pack is an even 44-44 in doubles matches this season, with 12 of those wins coming from Kostya Nesterenko and Mile Cilic. The tandem is a perfect 4-0 when playing on court No. 2. Peter O’Donovan and Robert Margitfalvi are second on the team with eight doubles victories this season.
Nesterenko leads the Wolf Pack with 18 singles victories on the year, and is tied with O’Donovan with three conferences wins in singles. O’Donovan has been hot for Nevada, winning six of his last eight singles matches. Cilic is right behind him, winning five of his last eight.
Nevada will have a chance to bring their Mountain West record above .500 with a victory this weekend over the Bulldogs. The Wolf Pack will then play in the Mountain West Tournament starting April 28. Follow the team on twitter @WolfPackMTennis for updates on the team throughout the season.
