Men's Tennis To Face Hawai'i At WAC Championships

Reno, Nev. - The Nevada men's tennis team will be traveling to Boise, Idaho for the WAC Championships this weekend. The tournament is set to begin on Friday, April 21 and will conclude on Sunday, April 23. The Pack finished the regular season with a 5-15 record (0-3 in the WAC). Nevada earned a six-seed in the WAC Tournament and will face off against No. 3 Hawai'i in the first round. If the Pack makes the second-round they would meet the winner of the No. 2 Fresno St. vs. No. 7 Idaho match.
VS Hawai'i: Hawai'i is 9-5 on the season and 1-0 in the WAC. Nevada has not faced Hawai'i in the last two seasons.
In The WAC: Nevada finished the season with a 0-3 record in the WAC. The Wolf Pack suffered losses to New Mexico St., Utah St. and Boise St.
Season Finale: The Wolf Pack finished the regular season 0-3 last weekend. Nevada hosted two home matches, but fell short in both losing to St. Mary's and UC Davis. The Pack also lost to Sac State in its final road match of the season. The team was at a disadvantage for all three matches due to a player suspension. The Wolf Pack will field a full team for the WAC Championships.
Last Year In The WAC: Last season the Pack lost in the first round of the WAC Championships to No. 39 Rice in the first round of the WAC Championships. Nevada came in as the seven-seed and had to face a power in Rice. Nevada finished with a 9-11 record last season and finished in fifth in the WAC.
In The Record Books: Nevada has a couple players moving up the records lists. Milos Popovic is currently eighth in career wins with 40. The team of Eldar Dzhafarov and Max Volger set a record in 2004 winning 12 doubles matches in a season.
Coach Stoloff: Head Coach Chad Stoloff is in his first season as the Pack's coach. Stoloff is an alumnus of Nevada and is attempting to bring back the tradition that the team had during his years. Stoloff was most recently an assistant coach at the University of Hawai'i.
