RENO, Nev. – For the first time this season, the University of Nevada men’s tennis team is ranked as one of the top 75 teams in the nation, coming in at No. 71 according to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
The Wolf Pack (5-1, 0-1) is currently riding a four-match winning streak, with its two most recent wins over Grand Canyon and the University of Arizona. The only loss thus far this season was to then No. 49, now No. 64 San Diego State. The rankings are officially released at ITATennis.com, and lists Nevada as the No. 71 in Division I men's tennis. Head coach Erik Burton is pleased, but knows the team can achieve more.
“It reveals a good start for us,” he said. “But its just the beginning. We strive to become much higher ranked.”
The No. 71 Wolf Pack will be in action on Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 10 am when it faces off with No. 28 Pepperdine in Malibu, Calif.
