RENO, Nev. - The University of Nevada men's tennis team will finish the month of February on a two-match road trip to Southern California, beginning with Pepperdine.
The Wolf Pack (5-1, 0-1 MW) will compete on the road at Pepperdine (5-5, 1-0) and UC Santa Barbara (2-6) before it kicks off a five-match home stand during the month March. Nevada is riding a four-match winning streak, and is fresh off a 7-0 blanking at Grand Canyon a week ago. The ITA Mountain Region No. 7 player Victor Ouvrard and Ryan Andrada both hold matching 6-0 records in singles play. The duo of Ouvrard and partner Robert Allan are 6-0 in doubles play. Head coach Erik Burton is eager to keep up the success.
"The guys have been practicing hard and it's been paying off," he said. "I know the guys are ready to go and we want to come back home on a positive note."
Pepperdine comes into the match ranked No. 19 in the nation but sits only at 5-5, having lost four of its last five matches. The Waves were defeated by No. 4 UCLA in its most previous match by a score of 4-0 at the ITA National Team Indoor Championships. Pepperdine will most like slot No. 36 in the nation Alex Sarkissian in the first singles position.
UC Santa Barbara will face Nevada riding a four-match losing streak, the most recent loss by a score of 4-3 to Fresno State. Tobias Galskov leads the Gauchos with a 13-6 record overall, and at 5-3 in dual play.
The match with Pepperdine will begin on Feb. 26 at 11 am, while the match with UC Santa Barbara will be held on Feb. 28 at 1:30 pm.
