RENO, Nev. - The Univeristy of Nevada men's tennis team will begin another three-match road trip, competing first against the Texas A&M Corpus Christi Islanders on Friday at 11:00 A.M.
The Wolf Pack (3-3) will compete against the Islanders (1-3) to kick off its second road trip in which they will have three matches in three days. The last three-match stretch saw the Pack finish 1-2, with a strong win over DePaul. On the road trip, freshman Robert Allan collected three more singles victories to stay undefeated in his collegiate singles career. Co-captain Victor Ouvrard has a 4-2 record in singles so far this season when competing out of slot No. 1.
"We didn't finish on the strongest note during our last road trip, so it's important that we come out strong this weekend," head coach Erik Burton said. "This is going to be a tough match, and it's important that we start out hot and stay hot through all three matches."
Texas A&M Corpus Christi is coming off a dominating 6-1 victory over Prairie View, where it only dropped two individual matches. Leading the way for the Islanders is senior Gergo Weidinger, who is 2-1 in singles action this season. Matt Westmoreland earned a victory out of the No. 1 slot against Prairie View, and Weidinger earned his singles victory out of slot No. 2.
This will be the first home match of the season for the Islanders, who are 1-3 on the road. Complete results will be available following the matches at www.NevadawolfPack.com.
