LAS VEGAS, Nev. - On the second day of action at the ITA Mountain Regionals in Las Vegas, the University of Nevada men's tennis team seized three total victories.
The Pack captured three victories in Las Vegas on day two after grabbing eight on Wednesday. Co-captain and No. 5 seed Victor Ouvrard is moving on to the round of 16 in the singles draw, as is Ryan Andrada.
"It was a tough day for us, but the guys held strong," head coach Erik Burton said. "We have to come focused and ready to go tomorrow.
Ouvrard ousted Steven Young of Air Force in straight sets 6-2, 6-0 to move on to the next round. Andrada was also victorious in his match, taking down Dennis Bumgartner of Utah State in three sets 6-2, 1-6, 6-3.
The doubles pair of Ouvrard and Robert Allan picked up a victory in their consolation doubles match against Alejandro Medinilla and Ben Tasevac of Utah 8-5.
Andrew Poustie, the No. 24 seed, was defeated in his match today. Had he been victorious, he would have met Ouvrard in the round of 16. The ITA Mountain Regionals continue on Friday morning.
