DAVIS, Calif. -- On the second day of the UC Davis Fall Aggie Invitational, the University of Nevada Men’s tennis team continued its strong play and earned nine victories, including four doubles victories.
Junior team captain Victor Ouvrard defeated Niranjan Ram of Sacramento State 6-0, 7-5 in the ITA Singles Consolations Flight A quarterfinals.
Ouvrard’s doubles partner Fernando Sunago also scored a victory in the consolation quarterfinals by defeating Seif Eisherbini of Boise State 6-3, 2-6, 1-0(8).
Together, the team of Ouvrard and Sunago advanced to the Flight A ITA Doubles Consolation Finals. They defeated the team of Fortin and Miller of UC Davis 8-5, before scoring a victory over the team of Hamilton and Goncalves of Pacific 9-8(4).
Freshman Andrew Poustie continued his strong play by defeating Walker Kehrer of Pac-12 foe Stanford 6-2, 6-3 in the Round Robin Consolation Singles flight.
In the same round robin, Moez Echargui defeated Adam Luba of UC Davis 6-4, 6-3. As a team, Poustie and Echargui defeated the pairing of Muchynski and Pham of Boise State 9-8(4). They fell in the semifinals to Ball and Strobel of Stanford 8-5.
In the Flight B ITA Doubles Consolation quarterfinals, Billy Bumgardner and Nicholas Sexton earned a victory over the team of Hutton and Dy of Sonoma State 8-6 before falling to Diaz and Marquez in the semifinals 8-4.
In the round of 16 for Flight B ITA Singles, Ryan Andrada defeated Wyatt Houghton of California 7-6(1), 6-7(1), 6-1. He fell in the quarterfinals to Anthony Tsodikov 6-1, 6-2.
