Nevada Bested by Utah State in Logan





LOGAN, Utah - The University of Nevada men's tennis team (2-4, 0-1 WAC) fell to Utah State 5-2 on the road Saturday.

The match was the first Western Athletic Conference meeting for both teams, and the sixth road match to open the Spring season for Nevada.

Senior Kristian Kuharszky and junior Wessim Derbel both got singles victories for the Pack against the Aggies.  Derbel defeated Sven Poslusny in straight sets at the No. 1 position with a tiebreaker win in the first and a 6-2 second set to close out the point.

Kuharszky defeated Fredrik Peterson at the No. 3 singles position, also in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4.

Two other matches went to three sets, with Utah State coming out on top in both.

Looking to get back on the winning side of things, Nevada will take on UC Davis February 27 in its next match.
