SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The University of Nevada men's tennis team swept the Lamar Cardinals without losing a match in a 7-0 victory on Saturday.
The Wolf Pack (6-3) finished their three-match road trip with a sweep of the Cardinals (1-6). The Wolf Pack won all six singles matches and all three doubles matches on the day, led by freshman Robert Allan. His undefeated singles streak now sits at nine, as he remained unbeaten with a victory over Bruno Snyder in straight sets 6-1, 6-0. Victor Ouvrard notched a singles victory out of the No. 1 slot, as he outlasted Rob Lee 7-5, 6-2.
"Our team played well today with great weather and a quick performance," head coach Erik Burton said. "Top to bottom it's been a good weekend. There's many things we need to improve on, but the effort and improvement is there."
In the second spot, Moez Echargui picked up a win by defeating Carl-Philip Lindqvist in straight sets 6-2, 6-4. Co-captain Quentin Mege picked up a win of his own, as he secured the match-clinching point against Steven McMullan 6-2, 6-4. Ryan Andrada got the victory in slot No. 5, as he cruised past Mikko Rajamaki 6-2, 6-0. The final singles victory came from Phillip Hinojosa, as he was victorious against Trey Cysel 6-3, 6-1.
In doubles action, Ouvrard and Allan teamed up to defeat the pair of Lee and McMullan in a close match 8-6. Poustie and Sunago battled in court three against Cysel and Lindqvist before pulling out the win 8-5. The final doubles victory came from the team of Echargui and Mege on court two, as they defeated Snyder and Rajamaki 8-4.
The next match for the Wolf Pack comes at home against San Francisco on Feb. 23 at noon.
