EUGENE, Ore. - The University of Nevada men's tennis team fell in its final contest of a three-day road trip to the host No. 74 Oregon Ducks by a score of 5-2 on Sunday.
The Wolf Pack (3-3) falls to .500 with the loss to the Ducks (6-0), and all losses have come by the score of 5-2. The Pack pulled together two wins during a tough day, led by freshman Robert Allan. He battled against and was finally able to overcome Daniel Sardu 3-6, 7-5, 10-8 to remain unbeaten in his singles collegiate career. Ryan Andrada earned the other victory, as he pulled out the three-set thriller against Lova Randriamampandry 6-3, 2-6, 6-4. Even though the Pack only managed two victories, head coach Erik Burton was able to find a silver lining.
"We had some injured starters this weekend that hindered our lineup," Burton said. "But the guys battled today and won some matches with freshman in our lineup, so I know with experience we have a bright future ahead."
The Wolf Pack will be in action again on Feb. 14 when they travel to Corpus Christi, Texas for a match with Texas A&M Corpus Christi.
