Nevada to play in the Mountain West Championship

RENO, Nev. – The Nevada men’s golf team is heading to Tucson, Ariz. to play in the Mountain West Championship. This is the team’s second time playing in the tournament.
The 54-hole tournament will begin on Friday at the 7,114 yard, par-71 Catalina Course at Omni Tucson National Resort. The team will play 18 holes a day, with the final round on Sunday.
“Everyone is playing really well,” said head coach Jacob Wilner. “Everyone has done a good job pulling together, working hard, and keeping the common goal to compete at the Mountain West Championship.”
Three points in the Governor’s Series, presented by NV Energy, will also be up from grabs at the championship. The best team finish between the Wolf Pack and the Rebels will earn three points, with each team winning 1.5 in the event of a tie.
The field of teams include Air Force, Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, New Mexico, San Diego State, San Jose State, UNLV, Utah State, and Wyoming.
