March 23, 2014

RENO, Nev. – The Nevada men’s golf team is heading to Creswell, Ore. to play in The Duck Invitational, hosted by Oregon.

The 54-hole tournament will begin on Monday at the 7,165 yard, par-72 Emerald Valley Golf Course. The team will play 36 holes on Monday, with the final 18-hole round on Tuesday.

Nevada will send seniors Brian Knoll, Ryan Mulvany, and Josh Baskins, Sophomore Kit Carson, and freshman Rhyne Jones.

“We are very excited to get back in action after our success so far this semester,” said head coach Jacob Wilner. “The field is very strong and the course is very demanding. Emerald Valley is a long and tight, tree lined course. I feel driving is a strength of this team so we should be very competitive this week.”

The field of teams include Air Force, Boise State, Colorado, Gonzaga, Idaho, Loyola Marymount, Minnesota, Oregon, Oregon State, Pacific, San Jose State, Santa Clara, St. Mary’s, Utah, and Wyoming.
