Nevada Finishes Fifth At Callaway Golf Invitational
San Diego, Calif. The University of Nevada men’s golf team finished in fifth place at the Callaway Golf Invitational hosted by the University of San Diego. The Wolf Pack shot a three day total of 880 at the 6920-yard Farms Golf Club.
San Diego State(867) won the 15-team Invitational with a seven stroke advantage over host San Diego(874). Cal Poly was in a close third with a final of 875 followed by UC Davis at 878 and Nevada at 880.
Junior Chase Cooper finished seventh overall and was Nevada's top finisher. Cooper ended with a three-round score of 214 (-2). Ryan Hallisey(14th) finished with a score of 218 and freshman Taylor Coffman(18th) was one stroke behind at 219 to give the Pack three golfers in the top 20.
Louie Bishop from UC Davis was the top individual finisher with a score of 209(-7).
Junior James Haban shot a 231 to finish tied for 62nd and redshirt freshman Jared Becher placed 67th with a score of 233.
Next for the Pack is the Fresno Lexus Golf Classic on March 12-13 in Fresno, Calif., at the Sunnyside Country Club.
