FAIRFAX, Calif. - The Nevada men's golf team finished its third tournament of the season with a 15th place finish at the Alister MacKenzie Invitational hosted by Cal at the par-71 6,718 yard Meadow Club.
The Wolf Pack played against six teams ranked in the top 50 in the nation, and this is the most challenging field of teams it has faced all season. The Pack shot a 25-over 877 for the three-round tournament, and shot a combined 294 on Tuesday. Nevada shot 293-290 in the first two rounds on Monday.
Individually, sophomore Taylor Knoll lead the way for the pack after shooting a 71 for the final round and finished tied for 34th with a two-over 215. Junior Brian Knoll finished tied for 45th with a four-over 217.
Cal, ranked first in the country, won the team tournament with a 46-under 806, and individually with junior Brandon Hagy who shot a 15-under 198 for the tournament.
Nevada will have a week off before it travels to Stockton, Calif. to play in the Pacific Invitational Oct. 29-31.
