Lucas Finishes NCAA Regional With Tie For 48th

NORMAN, Okla. – The collegiate career of Kevin Lucas came to an end on Saturday as the University of Nevada senior closed the NCAA Regional with a 78 at the Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club.
Lucas finished in a tie for 45th after a 12-over 228 (71-79-78) for the 54-hole tournament. The Regional was won by Washington by four strokes over Texas. Florida State was third, with Illinois fourth and Oklahoma the fifth school to advance to the NCAA Championships next week.
St. Mary's freshman Jonathan De Los Reye defeated San Diego's Grant Forrest on the first hole (No. 18) of a playoff to earn the regional’s individual bid to the NCAA Championship as De Los Reye was the low individual not amongst the five qualifying teams.
Lucas, a two-time All-WAC selection during his two-year career at Nevada, finished his senior season with a stroke average of 72.1
