AUBURN, Calif. – Senior Kevin Lucas fired a 68 and leads the way after the first round of the Winchester Invitational on Friday.

Lucas, a senior from nearby Folsom, Calif., was 4 under par through the first 18 holes and he has a one shot lead over Matt Seramin from UC Davis and Jarred Bossio of Idaho.

Freshman Zak Griffiths shot 71 and is tied for fifth place for Nevada with Brian Knoll two shots back and tied for ninth. Freshman Gustavo Chuang shot 74 and is tied for 11th while Gavin Kwon came in with a 76 and is tied for 22nd. Taylor Knoll is tied for 32nd after a 78 in the first round while Philip Snow shot 85 and is 42nd. Brian Knoll and Chuang are competing as individuals for the Pack.

Nevada is fifth place overall after the first round with UC Davis leading the way at 2 over. Nevada is 11 over.

The tournament resumes on Saturday and concludes on Sunday.
