SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Senior Kevin Lucas was on fire Monday is tied for fourth heading into the final round of the Cowboy Classic.

Lucas blistered the North Course at Talking Stick Golf Club with a round of 67 in the morning and then came back in the afternoon and shot a 4-under 66 to sit at 7 under for the tournament heading into the final 18 holes.

Nevada is tied for ninth as a team in a talented 20-team field. The Wolf Pack (561) shot rounds of 280 and 281 in the first 36 holes Monday. San Diego and Kansas State are tied for the lead at 545 for the tournament. Colorado State's Mike Wuertz is leading the medalist race at 128 with Kansas State's Ben Juffer and Colorado's Beau Schoolcraft three shots back at 131. Lucas and Wichita State's Rafael Becker are five back of Wuertz at 133.

Nevada's Zak Griffiths shot 142 and is tied for 51st, a shot ahead of fellow freshman Gustavo Chuang (143). Nevada's other two freshmen, Andrew Cornella and Taylor Knoll, shot 146 and are tied for 87th.

The tournament concludes on Tuesday.
